Description
Upgrades to the 26-metre John A. Galt Telescope located at the Dominion Radio Astrophyscial Observatory (DRAO) have recently been completed and commissioning has now begun; I will be presenting some of the first commissioning results. To process the data, we implemented two different radio frequency interference flagging algorithms: AOFlagger and spectral kurtosis. Using data from DRAO's hot-cold test facility, we estimated the temperature of the calibration diode. We also investigated methods for estimating the extragalactic, atmospheric, spillover, scattering, and source contributions to provide an estimate of the new system temperature.
